The Communicable Diseases Program focuses on the prevention and control of communicable diseases in the county by:
- Providing public health information and updates on communicable diseases and conditions to health care professionals and county residents
- Providing some clinical, case management and referral services
- Conducting surveillance and investigation of more than 70 reportable diseases
- Analyzing, interpreting and reporting information on communicable diseases
Administrative Rules of Montana (37.114) contain general provisions for reporting and control measures for communicable diseases in Montana. Conditions should be reported to the local public health department who will, in turn, report this information to the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services – Communicable Disease Control and Prevention Program.
